One process, every position.
I am an engineer by training, so I analyse a stock the way I would test a system: the same steps in the same order, with the failure point defined before anything is switched on. These pages show that process on a chart.
Built like an engineer builds a system.
- 01 · Measure
Data first
Multi-timeframe technicals, fundamentals and sector flows, gathered the same way every time.
- 02 · Model
Test the thesis
Valuation ranges, risk/reward and scenarios. If the numbers don't support it, it doesn't get published.
- 03 · Monitor
Follow through
Each view is revisited as new data arrives, including the calls that didn't work.
Four things, before any position.
- Trend
- Higher highs and lows on the weekly; the 50-day above the 200-day on the daily.
- Entry
- At a level drawn on the weekly, daily or 4-hour chart, timed on the 15-minute.
- Stop loss
- 1% below the nearest 4-hour support, set before the order goes in.
- Exit
- Half off when the gain equals the risk; the rest rides a trailing stop.
What I work with
TradingView
Where the analysis is done: trend, levels, entries and stops are all drawn there.
This page describes a process for education. The examples, including the Apple trade, are illustrations of past prices, not recommendations to buy or sell any security. Price data: Financial Modeling Prep.
