Intel's third-quarter revenue rose 21% to $16.5 billion as Data Center and AI sales grew 78%, while PC chip sales fell. It forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $15 billion to $16 billion.

The Quarter in Brief

Intel reported its third quarter of 2026, the three months ended September 26, after the US market closed on Thursday, October 29. Revenue was $16.51 billion, up 21% from $13.65 billion a year earlier and close to the $16.48 billion analysts had expected, according to Investing.com. Earnings per share on Intel's non-GAAP basis were $0.52, against $0.23 a year earlier and an expected $0.40. Reported (GAAP) earnings per share were $0.60, down from $0.90, because last year's quarter included a $5.45 billion gain on the sale of a majority stake in Altera.

What set this quarter apart was the split between Intel's two product businesses. Data Center and AI revenue rose 78% to $7.32 billion, which the company called its strongest growth in that business in 15 years, while revenue from PC chips, in the Client Computing and Physical AI Group, fell 5% to $8.10 billion. Intel forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $15.0 billion to $16.0 billion and non-GAAP earnings per share of $0.25.
