Earnings Recap: Sandisk Beats as Datacenter Sales Keep Climbing

Sandisk's revenue rose almost fivefold from a year earlier to $11.0 billion, ahead of forecasts, as datacenter sales grew 61% in three months. It guided higher for next quarter and announced an eight-for-one stock split.

The Quarter in Brief

Sandisk reported the first quarter of its fiscal 2027, the 13 weeks ended October 2, 2026, after the market closed on October 29. Revenue was $11.03 billion, almost five times the $2.31 billion of a year earlier and up 23% from the quarter before. Reported earnings per share were $52.60, against $0.75. Non-GAAP earnings per share, the company's own measure that leaves out stock-based pay, gains on shares it holds in other companies and some tax items, were $49.51, against $1.22.

Both were ahead of expectations: analysts had expected about $10.7 billion of revenue and non-GAAP earnings of about $47.15 a share. What set this quarter apart was where the growth came from. Sandisk makes NAND flash memory, the chips inside solid-state drives, and its sales to data centres rose 61% in three months to $4.80 billion, while over the same three months its other markets grew 7% or shrank. Gross margin reached 85.0%. Sandisk also announced an eight-for-one stock split; all per-share figures here are on the pre-split basis.
