Friday's selling moved away from the AI trade and into the rest of the market. Brent crude rose 3.1% to $116.72 a barrel on fears of a wider Middle East conflict, which lifted energy stocks and hit airlines, while a Bloomberg report that SpaceX wants space on up to 80,000 US cell sites for its own wireless network sent tower owners up and AT&T and T-Mobile down about 8%. The Dow fell 653 points, or 1.2%, and the S&P 500 slipped 0.5%, with staples, communication services and consumer stocks the weakest groups. The Nasdaq 100 finished flat, as Microsoft gained and cybersecurity stocks rallied on an upbeat analyst survey. Data center builders kept falling even on strong results: Bloom Energy and Comfort Systems both beat estimates and still dropped 9% to 11%.
