The Quarter in Brief
T-Mobile US reported its third quarter of 2026, the three months to September 30, before the market opened on October 28. Total revenue was $23.58 billion, up 7.4% from a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share, the reported (GAAP) profit divided by all shares including those that options and awards could create, were $3.22, up 34% from $2.41. T-Mobile publishes no adjusted per-share figure, so this is the one analysts forecast.
Analysts had expected about $2.89 a share and $23.15 billion of revenue, according to Investing.com, so both came in ahead. What set the quarter apart was the gap between money and customers: net income rose 27% to $3.46 billion and postpaid service revenue, from customers billed monthly after use, rose 9.3%, yet T-Mobile added a net 274,000 postpaid accounts, against 396,000 a year earlier, and more accounts left. The company now reports customer growth by account (a billing relationship that may hold several phones and devices) rather than by phone.
